At the core of this ambi\u00adtious choir is the joy of making music, a curious take towards new types of perfor\u00admance and a warm commu\u00adnity. <strong>Julia Lainema<\/strong> is the choir\u2019s artistic director.<br><br>The choir\u2019s reper\u00adtoire ranges from the Renais\u00adsance to contem\u00adpo\u00adrary music, and the choir has colla\u00adbo\u00adrated open-mindedly with various choirs, artists and compo\u00adsers. In June 2023, Lempi\u00adkuoro was awarded two gold stamps at the esteemed Tampe\u00adreen S\u00e4vel festival. In September of the same year, the choir gave the Finnish premiere of Pulitzer and Grammy Award winner <strong>Caro\u00adline Shaw\u2019s<\/strong> work \u201dTo the Hands\u201d at the House of Lords with the string ensemble Nome. In 2022, Lempi\u00adkuoro performed in the famous opera Sun &amp; Sea, which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Bien\u00adnale and was orga\u00adnised as part of Kiasma\u2019s ARS22 exhi\u00adbi\u00adtion and the Helsinki Festival<br><br>Julia Lainema, artistic director of Lempi\u00adkuoro, graduated from the Sibe\u00adlius Academy\u2019s Master\u2019s Programme in Choral Conduc\u00adting in 2022 and from the Master\u2019s Programme in Music Educa\u00adtion in 2016.
